As Christmas is fast approaching, Gary and I thought we’d focus on something old and something new in this week’s GWA blog. So, the new is the latest concept car from Skoda, the Skoda Vision D, and the old is the Top Gear car of the year for 2011. Surprisingly, it’s the Range Rover Evoque.

I say surprisingly because the compact luxury SUV beat off competition in the form the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, the McLaren MP4-12C and Ferrari FF, among others. Not a decision I expected from Jeremy Clarkson and co.

On the subject of the Range Rover Evoque, a new 2WD version has just been released. Take note company car buyers, the emissions are notably reduced. Moving on to something new, Skoda has released new pictures of its Skoda Vision D concept car. Style has become increasingly important for Skoda in recent years and this car suggests that there will be no change in focus, although you can almost guarantee that efficiency, practicality and durability with come included with the sporty looks.
