Last week I mentioned that the new Nissan Juke Visia would be good for getting around on the cooler autumn days and this got me thinking about what would be the ideal compact SUV or 4×4 for the coming winter months. According to The Telegraph, Honda is the way to go.
The Honda HR-V tops the newspaper’s poll of best 4×4s for winter, with the Honda CR-V in third place. Good news if you’re a fan of the latter car: the Japanese manufacturer is updating the model, details of which are expected at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month. From the early photos, it looks sleeker and more dynamic, although still very robust.
Another Japanese car maker giving a favourite model an overhaul is Mitsubishi, which is launching a new version of its Mitsubishi Shogun. New features include a Euro V-compliant turbo diesel engine, a fresh take on the front grille and a higher-quality interior. GWA Cars & Finance can source and provide the finance for any of these models, although the new Honda CR-V won’t be out for a while.
In the meantime, we have the new Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Double Cab, which offers you all kinds of protection on the winter road, available from £69 per week. If you want something more residential from your four-wheel drive, we have a Ford Freda Campervan 2.5 Diesel Auto on the forecourt at the moment for £6,995. There’s plenty of room for the kids or the fishing gear!
