So, our trip to the Southern Business Awards came with a noteworthy pat on the back but nothing shiny and new for the mantelpiece. However, Gary and I do have something shiny and new to mention – the new 61 plates, which are out now.
We reached the last five for Business of the Year on Friday night but we didn’t make it to the stage this time. One award a year (Motor Dealer of the Year) is enough though, and the speech will keep for another 12 months!
Talking of new plates and new cars, the new Audi A6 SE 3.0 TDI quattro S tronic got a good write-up in the Sunday papers. Mr Clarkson called it the Manchester City to the BMW 5-series Manchester United. It has the brawn – 7-speed S tronic gearbox capable of 0–62 mph in 6.1 seconds – and the brain: its lane assist system will keep you out of harm’s way as long as you’re going over 40mph.
This new Audi is out now and GWA Cars & Finance can source and provide finance for it. Another new Audi heading our way is the Audi A8 Hybrid. No word on price yet, but the German manufacturer has said that the UK won’t be seeing the Audi Q5 Hybrid, although we may get the A6 Hybrid before the hybrid A8 is launched at the end of 2012.
If you can wait that long for an Audi, we have a 2010 Audi A5 Sportback 2.7 TDI S-Line CVT for £26,995 on the GWA forecourt. And, to be fair to the blue–red divide, we also have a 2010 BMW X5 xDrive 35d M Sport Auto available for £42,995.
