I saw plenty of cars going very fast at the Festival of Speed, but my favourite was one that didn’t move an inch. Also moving fast (and coming to an end) was Le Tour des Old Farts: Wattsie crossed the finishing line bathed in Scottish sunshine.
My highlight of the weekend at Goodwood, or one of them at least, was sitting in a brand new Porsche 911. On display in the Porsche Experience Centre and helping celebrate 60 years of the marque, it felt great just to sit in. In fact, I got so excited I forgot to take a photograph. However, I did get some snaps of the other Porsches there.
We have our own Porsches on the GWA Cars & Finance forecourt: a 2008 basalt black Porsche Carerra 2 PDK Coupe (£49,995) and a 2001 Porsche 911 Carerra 4 Cabriolet (£19,995). We can also help source and finance the purchase of new ones.
Talking of performance, Wattsie and Chris finished their epic bike ride up the length of the country at the weekend. With hardly a cloud in the sky, the boys reached the famous sign at John O’Groats after 14 days on the saddle. However, that wasn’t before they took a few detours and added a couple more hills to their journey. See them take the chequered flag (and celebrating with some champers) here.
