This week it’s all about the Festival of Speed in Chichester. Lord March’s petrolhead party kicks off on Thursday and I’m looking forward to getting up to Goodwood on Sunday. The weekend should also see another landmark occasion: the chequered flag at Le Tour des Old Farts!
There are countless things that I’m looking forward to seeing at Goodwood, among them the Jaguar sculpture outside Goodwood House celebrating 50 years of the E-Type. I hope Lord Cowdray’s E-Type will be a part of the show. The Jaguar XKR-S will be up there too – that’ll be good to see in the flesh.
Apparently, vehicles worth over US$85 million were transported to the Festival in 2010 and I’m sure this year will see the same, if not more. Another of these cars will be the Alfa Romeo 4C, which grabbed the limelight at the Geneva Motor Show. I’d better leave the cheque book at home!
