I know I talked about Porsches at the Goodwood Festival of Speed only a few weeks ago, but I have to again after seeing some shots of the new Porsche 911 and reading about a very special Porsche once owned by Steve McQueen.
More details are emerging of the new Porsche 911 and the more I see, the more I like the sound of it. The 2011 model will be only the third new 911 design of the car and, from what I read, the early signs are promising. Apparently, it’s curvier and lighter, and more economical on fuel. We’ll get to see it in its full glory at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
If you can’t wait that long to get your hands on a Porsche 911 or if your budget doesn’t quite run to a brand new one, we have a 2008 Porsche 911 Carerra 2 PDK Coupe for £49,995 on the forecourt. GWA Cars & Finance offers a range of finance and leasing options on all Porsches.
Well, perhaps not all Porsches. This 1970 Porsche 911S, once the property of Steve McQueen, goes on sale in California in August as part of Monterey Car Week. The car was delivered to the actor on the set of the Le Mans film and features in its opening credits. Expect the price to be high!
However, the Porsche 911S isn’t the main attraction: that honour falls to a 1953 Siata 208S Spyder. This Italian-made rocket was another favourite of McQueen’s and, talking of cars that go faster, we have this lovely-looking 2006 Jaguar XKR V8 Coupe available for £28,995.
