It’s the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, which means that Gary and I will be passing lots of spectacular cars on the local roads and that we can talk about some new supercars hitting the road soon. We’ve taken a look at the new McLaren MP4 12C and Aston Martin Vanquish.
Given that the new, enhanced version of the McLaren MP4 road car gets its global unveiling this weekend at Goodwood, we think it’s only right we should start with this one. It’s only a prototype and isn’t due for launch until 2013, but the latest addition to the McLaren MP4 stable looks well worth waiting for. The difference between this one and the one we looked at a while ago? Well, for a start, it’s got more engine power (625PS instead of 600PS).
Talking of British speedsters (ish, nearly, almost), we have our very own one on the GWA Cars & Finance forecourt: a 2008 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Automatic Supercharged Convertible that wouldn’t look out of place at Goodwood this weekend.
Another car that could hold its own in Lord March’s back garden is the new Aston Martin Vanquish. Thankfully, it seems that the British manufacturer has adopted the “if it ain’t broke…” strategy, as the Vanquish looks unmistakably like a great Aston. For me, a highlight is the new front end with extra snarl – if you needed reassurance that this car is going to take you along the road at a frighteningly quick pace (with its 6-litre, V12 engine), then this is it.
While we’re waiting for Aston to share the love and officially make the car available (late 2012), GWA Cars & Finance can source and provide the finance for other Aston Martin models.
