Gary and I like a good awards ceremony – GWA Cars & Finance has even been known to pick up the odd gong itself – and this week we’ve been pouring over the Auto Express 2012 New Car Awards. There were some interesting results but the manufacturer behind the car of the year isn’t a great surprise!
Because it’s Skoda, whose Skoda Yeti has already picked up the best car to own award this year from Auto Express. The Auto Express Car of the Year has gone to the Skoda Citigo, a car that has been receiving rave reviews and is giving the VW Up and Seat Mii a run for their money. Skoda also took home the Family Car award for its Skoda Superb, on which we have a special offer: it’s available from £246 per month.
In our other favourite category, the Range Rover Evoque won the award for best compact SUV, while the Mazda CX-5 was crowned best crossover for 2012, beating off competition from the Audi Q3 and the Skoda Yeti.
