This Sunday is the second Goodwood Breakfast Club meet of the year, which gives me the perfect excuse to have a look at some more supercars, following our recent GWA post on the new LaFerrari.
The theme at Goodwood Motor Circuit on 7 April is Sushi Sunday, which will celebrate Japanese cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. In a few years, I won’t be surprised to see the Honda NSX attracting the crowds. The Honda hybrid supercar was unveiled earlier this year and early indications suggest that it will team a petrol injection V6 with twin electric motors.
Another new Far East supercar with a V6 behind it is the Hyundai HND Sports Coupe, which was given its debut at the Seoul Motor Show in March. It features an eight-speed automatic gearbox, butterfly doors, some serious alloys and much more spectacular spec.
Building a bridge back home, the Jaguar XKR-S GT took its bow at the recent New York Auto Show. This is a ready-made collector’s item – just 50 are being made – and is billed as the ultimate road-going, track-ready XK coupe. Supercharged by a 5.0-litre V8, it takes just 3.9 seconds to do 0-60mph. Jaguar also launched the 2014 XJR in the city that never sleeps.
The New York Auto Show also featured the Bentley Flying Spur in all its glory and the new Mercedes CLA 45 AMG. We currently have this elegant Bentley Continental GTC Convertible and this super smart Mercedes C350 Sport CDI for sale at GWA Cars & Finance.
