Fuel prices tumble further.
Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda step up the price war by cutting diesel by 2p a litre and petrol by 1p.
This price drop is due to a number of factors. Crude oil price has dropped due to weaker global demand. Supermarkets have slashed prices to lure back customers. Motorists are now enjoying the cheapest prices for three years. The price of crude oil is now below 90 US dollars a barrel.
Tesco is Britain’s biggest petrol retailer with around 500 petrol stations, Asda is following with 232 forecourts. This price cut is part of a wider effort to win back grocery customers from discount rivals Aldi and Lidl.
It has been reported that almost 900 independent forecourts have closed between 2008 and 2013, more than a third of which were in rural areas.
Make the most of this price drop and save some ££££.
