Aston Martin has unveiled what is potentially one of the best looking cars of the year — the new, rather exquisite DB11 Volante.
The sleek motor, with an RRP price of £159,900, has sheer elegance and luxury in abundance and it retains bundles of sporting character thanks to its drop-top.
The Volante will join the DB11 Coupe in the Aston ranks and is powered by a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo 510PS V8 engine, which is crafted from the same lightweight structure as the Coupe.
And it is very fast — much more so than the DB9 it replaces. The engine produces 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Aston claims the car will bolt from zero to 62mph in 3.9 seconds and press on to a top speed of 200mph.
So what does Aston Martin president and chief executive officer Dr Andy Palmer have to say about the newbie: “For many of our customers, indeed many generations of Aston Martin customer, the Volante has always offered something very special — a unique combination of elegant style, innate sporting ability and sensory engagement that lifts it above other open-top cars; the kind of pleasure and enjoyment that can only come from driving an open-top Aston Martin.”
We can’t disagree!
